Tupuxuara leonardii

1/72 scale

(figure not included)

painted by Steve Riojas

This bizarre looking pterosaur lived in Early Cretaceous Brazil. Pterosaurs were not dinosaurs. Its wingspan was about 18 feet, which is large for a pterosaur. Although its head looks huge in comparison to its tiny body it was extremely light. Tupuxuara's skull, like the rest of its bones, were hollow. Other skulls that are attributed to this species actually had even larger head crests! One must wonder what would happen if it turned its head in flight!

This one piece resin figure has a wingspan of 2 3/4" and is cast separately from its base but held in mid air by a thin piece of spring steel. Resin figure is $16.00 plus $1.50 s/h
